JSC FGC UES is to provide for power supply to JSC AK Transneft enterprises
On August 27, JSC FGC UES, JSC RusHydro and JSC AK Transneft signed Cooperation Agreement. The Agreement defines interaction of the parties in realization of investment projects on external power supply for East Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline system (ESPO-2) and Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP. The Agreement was signed by President of JSC AK Transneft Nikolay Tokarev, Chairman of JSC RusHydro Management Board Eugeniy Dod and Chairman of JSC FGC UES Management Board Oleg Budargin.

JSC FGC UES will provide for Nizhne-Bureskaya HPP power output and enhance reliability of power supply for customers in Amur region
On August 27, JSC FGC UES, JSC RusHydro and Government of Amur region signed Cooperation Agreement. The Agreement defines interaction of the parties under realization of investment projects on Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP and Nizhne-Zeyskaya HPP construction. The Agreement was signed by Governor of Amur region Oleg Kozhemyako, Chairman of JSC RusHydro Management Board Eugeniy Dod and Chairman of JSC FGC UES Management Board Oleg Budargin.

JSC FGC UES will provide for power supply for Elgin coal complex
On August 27, JSC FGC UES, JSC RusHydro and JSC Mechel signed Cooperation Agreement. The Agreement defines interaction of the parties under realization of investment projects on Nizhne-Bureyskaya HPP and Elgin coal complex construction. The Agreement was signed by Chairman of JSC Mechel Board of Directors Igor Zyuzin, Chairman of JSC RusHydro Management Board Eugeniy Dod and Chairman of JSC FGC UES Management Board Oleg Budargin.

JSC FGC UES participates in CIGRE Session 43
JSC FGC UES participates in Session 43 of International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE). Regular CIRGE Session is held 22-27 August in Palais des Congres de Paris in France. The Session is dedicated to technical knowledge and information communication on high voltage power generation and transmission and also on issues of increased intelligence in power systems.

JSC FGC UES has completed testing of new-generation reactive power compensator
JSC FGC UES has completed testing of new-generation of reactive power compensator of STATKOM type. The innovative equipment shall be installed at substation 330/400 kV Vyborgskaya (Leningradskaya area) until the end of 2010, this shall increase operation reliability of back-to-back station which connects power systems of Finland and Russia.

Oleg Budargin, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC FGC UES has examined constructed electric grid objects in Sochi region
On August 18 a delegation from JSC FGC UES headed by the Chairman of Management board Oleg Budargin visited substation 220 kV Dagomys, substations 110 kV Laura and Roza Khutor in the Sochi region. During the visit the delegation has examined electric grid objects, aimed to provide power supply to Olympic objects, and has evaluated completed works in construction and reconstruction of the substations mentioned.

JSC FGC UES shall provide output of capacity from a new power generating unit of Ivanovo CCGTs
An affiliate to JSC FGC UES – Backbone electric grids (MES) of Center – has started works in extension of open switchgear (OS) 220 kV at substation 220 kV Ivanovo (Ivanono area). The works are performed within the project of outputting the capacity of a new power generating unit of Ivanovo CCGTs (325 MW). The cost of works in extension of the substation 220 kV Ivanovo is 130 mln RUR.

JSC FGC UES has started the reconstruction of substation 220 kV Vostochnaya in Krasnodarskiy territory
An affiliate to JSC FGC UES – Backbone electric grids (MES) of South – has started the reconstruction of substation 220 kV Vostochnaya in Krasnodarskiy territory of Russia. As a result of technical re-equipment the capacity of power object shall be increased twice to make up for 250 MVA. The works made shall increase the reliability of electric power supply to resort towns Gelenjik, Novorossiysk, new conditions shall arise to connect new consumers to the backbone grids in South-Western regions of Krasnodarskiy territory. The investments of Federal Grid Company into the substation reconstruction shall comprise RUR 250 mln.
