08/24/2020 Rosseti FGC UES to provide 150 MW of power to Irkutsk polymer factory FGC UES (Rosseti Group) has commenced installing two new 220 kV feeders at Ust-Kut 500 kV substation, a big power center of the Irkutsk region, built as part of the Peleduy Energy Ring. The project will allow connecting the Irkutsk polymer factory to the grid. The cost of work is 244 M rubles.
08/17/2020 Summary session of Rosseti-controlled grid complex for 7 months of 2020 takes place The event chaired by Andrey Murov, first deputy general director and CEO of Rosseti, was attended by chief executives of Rosseti profiled units, branches of FGC UES, i.e. MES and subsidiaries. Successful passing of COVID-19 limitations has been noted. The UNPG reliability upside trend is maintained. The repair campaign (including preparations for the cold season) and key points of the investment program are progressing according to plan. The financial bottom line demonstrates stability to external challenges.
08/12/2020 Rosseti FGC UES builds infrastructure for more freight traffic by rail to Russian south ports A key project stage has been completed to connect three traction substations of JSCo "RZD" in the Krasnodar Territory to the Unified National Power Grid (UNPG). The new facilities will increase the throughput capacity of railways towards the South of Russia up to a total annual volume of 130 mn tons of cargo. Rosseti FGC UES has invested 1.63 B rubles.
08/10/2020 Rosseti FGC UES releases 50 MW from new solar generations in Volgograd region Aerial lines from the Svetlaya and Luch power stations have been connected to the Kirovskaya 220 kV substation that was commissioned in late 2019. It has replaced the namesake power utility built in 1967 in a flooded area. The substation's capacity has been raised by 70 MVA and up to 560 MVA. Reliability of power supply has been improved for southern areas of Volgograd inhabited by more than 100 thousand people, with conditions provided for connecting new consumers and generators. The works cost 3.3 B rubles.

Rosseti FGC UES upgrades power center of coal-mining enterprises in northern Kuzbass
Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) has finished revamping Krokhalevskaya 220 kV substation in the Kemerovo region. New 35 kV switchgear has been installed, emergency control and backup power supply systems upgraded. The works cost 107 mn rubles. The project has improved the power supply to Berezovsky town district with over 47 thous. people, the Berezovskaya Central Beneficiation Factory and large coal mining companies: Chernigovsky, Kedrovsky and Rover open-pit mines, Berezovskaya and Pervomayskaya mines.
07/20/2020 Rosseti FGC UES begins building new 220 kV substation and OHL in Khakassia Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) is planning to invest 2.7 bn rubles to build Stepnaya 220 kV substation and second 220 kV transmission line between Oznachennoye and Stepnaya. With 80 MVA capacity, the substation will become a new power center to feed central and southern areas of the Republic of Khakassia with about 85 thousand people. As a result, conditions will be created to increase the throughput capacity of the Trans-Siberian railway and improve the reliability of links between the power system of Khakassia and the power systems of the Republic of Tuva and the Kemerovo region.
07/14/2020 Rosseti FGC UES increasing throughput capacity of Tyva power transit Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) has commenced revamping three key power centers involved in the transit of electricity to the Republic of Tyva: Abaza, Turan, and Ak-Dovurak 220 kV substations. This will raise the maximum permissible flow in the Krasnoyarsk, Khakassia – Tyva section by 62%, up to 390 MW, which will improve the reliability of power supply to consumers in the area during the emergency response and repair work and will, in the longer term, allow connecting new productions and infrastructure facilities. The company's volume of investments will be 53 mn rubles.
07/13/2020 Rosseti FGC UES begins final stage of revamping Noginsk 500 kV substation – key link of Moscow energy ring Before end of 2022, Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) will finish installing the main equipment, including power transformers with total capacity of 700 MVA, in the third stage of the comprehensive upgrade of Noginsk 500 kV substation, the main power center for the eastern part of the Moscow agglomeration. Factoring in the work done earlier, the substation will raise its capacity more than twofold: from 1050 to 2200 MVA. The project will improve the reliability of the capital's power system and promote further conditions for development of the Moscow suburbs. The total volume of investments by Rosseti FGC UES is 13.7 bn rubles.
07/09/2020 Rosseti FGC UES to funnel over 1.6 bn rubles to construct transmission line to Sukhodol coal harbor in Primorye Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) has commenced the main stage of work to create an external power supply circuit for Sukhodol, a high-tech complex for reception, storage, and loading of coal, which is under construction in the Primorye Territory. The project includes an upgrade of Vladivostok – Zeleny Ugol 220 kV line and erection of infeeds 44 km long to the applicant's substation. Up to 34 MW of power release will be provided.
07/07/2020 Rosseti FGC UES to raise 330 kV Derbent substation capacity in Dagestan 1.5 times up to 432 MVA The main stage of a comprehensive upgrade of one of the biggest power centers in the Republic of Dagestan, 330 kV Derbent substation, is complete. A new power transformer has been installed and new generation of 330 kV switching equipment implemented. The upgrade is ongoing along with a project of building a 171.7 km 330 kV Artem – Derbent overhead line that will improve the reliability of power supply over the whole south of the region, including railway facilities of JSC ‘RZD’ and oil pumping stations, and international transit of power to the Republic of Azerbaijan. The total cost of work is over 6.9 bn rubles.
07/03/2020 Belgorod key power center switches to digital remote control Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) and SO UPS have implemented a project to remotely control the equipment of Belgorod 330 kV substation. This is the second facility of high voltage class in the Belgorod region gearing this technology. In total, it is planned to switch over 100 substations of the Unified National Power Grid to the new mode of operation, 17 of them in the backbone grids of the Center, by 2025.
140-km energy transit commissioned in Orenburg region
Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) has completed the upgrade of Rysaevo – Saraktash-Tyaga 220 kV line. In fact, a new 140-km transmission line was erected through the redesign of the old line over its whole length. As the line passes areas with harsh climatic conditions, innovative solutions to reduce wind and ice loads have been implemented. The work costs 2.5 mn rubles. The project brings more reliable delivery of power to central Orenburg region, populated with more than 500 thousand people, and the South Urals railway.
06/23/2020 Rosseti FGC UES begins upgrading Nadym 220 kV substation in Yamal with digital package The reconstruction of the Nadym 220 kV substation, the nodal power center of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, has begun. A package of digital technologies will be implemented here, including optical instrument transformers. The total volume of investments by Rosseti FGC UES amounts to 488 mn rubles. The work will be completed in 2021. The project will improve the reliability of energy supply to the region's consumers, including production facilities of Gazprom. The risk of human errors will be minimized and operational technical control costs will be reduced.
Rosseti FGC UES to install avian protection devices on seven backbone transmission lines in Yaroslavl region
The transmission lines will be equipped with 578 avian protection devices. The total length of the 220 kV transmission lines in this project is over 550 km. The work will be carried out on lines providing power supply to the region with the population of about 1.2 million people, the largest industrial and agricultural enterprises, including Slavneft-YANOS PJSC and Greenhouse Complex LLC. The lines pass through the habitat and migration routes of 240 bird species, 20 of which are listed in the Red Book.
First stage of revamping Kondopoga 330 kV substation for central areas of Karelia completed
Rosseti FGC UES has completed revamping the switching equipment of Kondopoga 330 kV substation in the Republic of Karelia. State-of-the-art microprocessor-based protections are planned to be installed here by the end of 2021. The total cost of work is 330 mn rubles. This project will improve the reliability of power supply to consumers in the central areas of the republic with a total population of 600,000 people, as well as transit of energy from the Kola NPP to Leningrad region.
06/09/2020 Rosseti FGC UES begins new phase of constructing power supply facilities for compressor station #1 of Power of Siberia gas line Construction of a 50 MVA substation and a 12.3-km transmission line began in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to feed power to compressor station no. 1 Saldykelskaya of the Power of Siberia pipeline system. The facilities will be commissioned before the end of this year. In total, in 2020 Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) will technologically connect three compressor stations of the gas line to the Unified National Power Grid (UNPG). The total cost of the projects is 2.1 bn rubles.
06/02/2020 Rosseti FGC UES accomplishes creation of power delivery scheme for Adygea windfarm Rosseti FGC UES has technologically connected Adygea, the largest windfarm in the south, to the Unified National Power grid. Armavir 330 kV and Tsentralnaya 500 kV substations have been revamped and 16.5 km of transmission lines have been built. The total cost of work amounted to 650.7 mn rubles. The new 150 MW windfarm will cover 20% of the electricity demand of the Republic of Adygea and raise the reliability of power delivery to consumers in the Krasnodar Territory.
