The maximum ice load in the autumn and winter period was as much as 1600 kg per span. The timely ice melting eliminated the risk of conductor breakage under the ice load and ensured stable delivery of power to over 26 mn residents in the Southern and North-Caucasian federal districts.
05/11/2021 End-to-end upgrade begins at Nizhni Novgorod region's key power center: 220 kV Nagornaya substation Rosseti FGC UES is investing over 3.7 bn rubles to upgrade the 220 kV Nagornaya substation in the Nizhni Novgorod region. It is planned to replace 100% of its switching equipment and two autotransformers for a total capacity of 400 MVA. 04/26/2021 Rosseti FGC UES completes new energy transit in Primorie to supply power to Trans-Sib and ESPO Rosseti FGC UES has energized the aerial transmission line between the 500 kV Dalnevostochnaya and 220 kV Spassk substations, finishing the erection of the 220 kV power transit 'Lesozavodsk – Spassk – Dalnevostochnaya' for a total of 250 km. The cost of work is more than 8.3 bn rubles. The project has improved the reliability of the Primorie power system, bringing up opportunities for further development of the southern areas of the province and raising the throughput of the Trans-Siberian Railway. Additionally, the 'East Siberia – Pacific Ocean' (ESPO) oil pipeline's power supply circuit has been optimized.
04/21/2021 Rosseti FGC UES starts building world's largest high temperature superconducting power transmission line The new energy line will connect the main power substations of the Central and Admiralty districts of Saint Petersburg, with more than 400 thousand inhabitants. The project is unrivaled in Russia as well as abroad by length: 2.5 km. With high temperature superconducting (HTSC) direct current cable line, it will transmit up to 50 MW of power at the medium voltage of 20 kV, minimize the losses, boost up reliability and quality of the energy supply.
04/21/2021 Rosseti FGC UES to funnel 1 bn rubles to upgrade Siberia's most powerful substation Rosseti FGC UES is upgrading the 500 kV Krasnoyarskaya substation. Its 500 kV switchyard circuit will be changed, modern switching equipment will be installed, and the operative DC scheme will be updated. Reliable functioning of this utility with 2403 MVA installed capacity is vital for the power supply of the city of Krasnoyarsk with more than one million inhabitants and one of the biggest aluminum factories in the world, as well as the reliable transit between the east and the central part of the Interconnected Energy System of Siberia. The completion of the work is planned for 2022.
04/14/2021 Rosseti FGC UES to install microprocessor-based protections at Kuzbass – Novosibirsk – Altai key energy transit Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) has begun upgrading the relay protection at the key substations in Siberia: Altai 1150 kV, Barnaulskaya and Zarya 500 kV. Modern equipment will increase the reliability of power flows between the regions of Western Siberia and, consequently, power supply to consumers in the Novosibirsk Region, Kuzbass, and the Altai Territory with a total population of 7.8 million people. The amount of investments will be 182 mn rubles.
04/13/2021 Rosseti FGC UES provides 142 MW of power to Yelets Vegetables greenhouse farm Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) has completed the work for arrangement of the supply of power to Yelets Vegetables greenhouse farm in the Lipetsk region. For that purpose, the company has expanded the Yeletskaya 220 kV substation and upgraded another power hub of the region, Terbuny 220 kV. The hookup power is 142 KW, which allows the farming enterprise to commission five groups of greenhouses with a total area over 63 hectares.
04/06/2021 Rosseti FGC UES to strengthen lightning protection of 52 OHTLs in Far East As part of the project, over 1000 power line grounding circuits will be repaired and installed in five regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. This will reduce the risk of emergency shutdowns and improve the reliability of the power systems of the Khabarovsk and Primorsky Territories, the Amur and Jewish Autonomous Regions, and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

This provides highly reliable operation of the transmission line in a thunderstorm period. With the communication link gone live, the observability and efficiency of process control have been increased for the power supply centers of the Altai Territory, where 390 thousand people live and the federal resort city of Belokurikha is situated. The work cost is 174 mn rubles.

About 40 km of 220 kV energy power lines will connect a new power center with the operating power facilities. Equipment energizing is scheduled to the end of 2021. The project will allow increasing the reliability of the power supply of consumers and create a power reserve for the development of Nakhodka that hosts one of the largest port areas at the Far East.

Before the end of 2021, Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) will put into operation 220kV “Naldinskaya” substation, as well as incoming lines with a length of 13.8 km from the operating OHTL. Technological connection will have maximum capacity of 57.98 MW.
03/18/2021 First Stage of Construction of 430-km Transit, Providing Additional Power to Trans-Siberian Railway is Completed in the Krasnoyarsk Region Rosseti FGC UES (FGC UES, PJSC) test-operated 220 kV OHTL (“Kamala 1 - Sayanskaya Tyagovaya No.2”). State-of-art solutions -many-sided towers and new generation wire - were used in the construction of 80.74 km long line facility. The total cost of work amounted to RUB 3.26 bn. This is the first sector of a new 220 kV transit line “Minusinskaya-opornaya-Kamala-1”, aimed at the increase of the potential of Krasnoyarsk part of the Railway, as well as development of the region, populated with 2.9 mn people.

The growth of the power delivery volumes is associated with the construction of the new blast furnace named Cherepovchanka. This unit, with design capacity over 3 mn tons of iron annually, is one of the biggest in Russia and Europe.

The total transformer capacity will rise by 25% and up to 460 MVA, which will provide possibilities to connect new consumers. Rosseti FGC UES will invest more than 4 bn rubles into the project.
Rosseti FGC UES completes redesigning North Caucasus grid's oldest utility
Rosseti FGC UES has finished redesigning the Mashuk 330 kV substation that supplies power to the resorts of the Caucasus Mineral Waters agglomeration. The 35 kV switchyard equipment was fully renovated at the final stage of the project. Earlier, new power transformers were installed at the utility, and its capacity grew by 20% up to 560 MVA. The total cost of work amounted to 288 mn rubles.
